According to foreign reports, Paul Ward, the marketing director of basic metals for mining company Anglo American Resources Group, stated at the Asia Copper Week conference held in Shanghai that as the market's demand for battery metals continues to increase, the company is looking for opportunities to acquire lithium materials.

Ward clearly stated that although Anglo American currently does not have lithium mines and will not directly engage in transactions, they are actively seeking lithium mines. He explained that Anglo American clients are requesting more types of metals, including battery materials such as nickel and lithium. In order to meet this demand, they hope to provide debt financing for brownfield or green field projects and obtain off-take raw materials for battery metal.

He further explained, "If there is an opportunity to obtain extracted lithium, we will be very satisfied and we can sell directly to customers, which is also our interest." This indicates that Anglo American Group has a strong interest in obtaining lithium materials and hopes to meet market demand by selling directly to customers.
